NBA star Damian Lillard believes the children growing up in his “rough” hometown neighborhood in Oakland are now exposed to more “bad” influences than he experienced growing up. So, he felt compelled to go back.
When he was young, Lillard says, “drugs and crime” were prevalent near his home in Brookfield, a neighborhood in the eastern part of the city. He and his friends had little access to sports equipment at the local recreational center and park.

An Idaho man who admitted to livestreaming himself shooting and seriously wounding a homeless person in downtown Spokane, Wash., was sentenced to 39 months in jail.
In a plea agreement with prosecutors, Hoyt Webb, 36, of Coeur d’Alene, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault,online court recordsshow.
The shooting left the victim, Thomas Hatch, 47, suffering from life-threatening injuries, including losing a kidney and half of his bowels as well as damage to a coronary artery,Fox28 Spokanereports.
