'Murder on the Dancefloor' Almost Became New Radicals' First Single, Reveals Co-Writer Gregg Alexander

Gregg Alexander of the British band New Radicals, who cowrote the 2001 disco-pop hit with Ellis-Bextor, revealed in anew interview withThe Guardianthat his band nearly released “Murder on the Dancefloor” as its debut single rather than the 1998 alt-rock hit “You Get What You Give.” The vocalist and guitarist wrote the song’s hook one night in 1994, when he was trying to drive his blue Ford Mustang to a nightclub and the vehicle wouldn’t start.

TheMy Unorthodox Lifestar, 51, filed a lawsuit Friday against her estranged husband, business partner and costar on Friday, claiming that Scaglia, 63, is a “liar and a fraud” who defrauded her out of their businesses, after shefiled for divorcein February. The 45-page lawsuit, which was filed in New York State Supreme Court, claims Scaglia “begged” his then-fiancée Haart to serve as EWG’s CEO in June 2019.
