1 Dead, 5 Injured in Shooting at Indianapolis Waffle House

A shooting at a Waffle House in Indianapolis, Ind., left one person dead and five others injured early Monday morning, according to authorities.

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene a little after midnight on a report of a person shot, they said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found five people with gunshot injuries who were taken to local hospitals, where one of the victims died, per the statement.

Investigators have not determined whether any of the shooters were among those injured, per the statement.

Police recovered a gun from the car at Methodist Hospital, they toldFOX 59. They found another gun on the scene at Waffle House, per the outlet.

Three men and one woman were in a stable condition, police said in their statement. The man at Methodist Hospital was in critical condition.

Waffle House has said they are cooperating with law enforcement, according to FOX 59 andABC News.
