“Of all the things Al Pacino would have on his phone cover, I was not expecting Shrek,” BBC Correspondent Colin Paterson said. “Who would be expecting Shrek?” Pacino, 84, said with a laugh, showing off a close-up of the cover, tangled in his headphone wires.

When asked to explain “why you Shrek it,” Pacinorevealed that his daughter Oliviagave him the unique case after she asked to borrow his phone. “When she came back, she had this on it,” motioning to the Shrek case.

“She said, ‘It’s Shrek, dad!’ I said, ‘Shrek?’ Wow. Okay babe, I’ll hold onto it.' "

Fans on social media were obsessed with Pacino showing off the Shrek phone case, calling him “a man of culture” and “wholesome as hell.” “Just knowing he walks around with a shrekd phone gives me life,” one person said.

Pacino has had the Shrek phone casefor at least two years. Eagle-eyed fans spotted it on the table in a photograph of him out withJason Momoain April 2022 and it went viral.

TheScarfaceactor didn’t realize what was on his phone case until it broke the internet. “I didn’t even look at it until social media told me what was on my phone, and I took a look and said, ‘That’s Shrek,’ " he said on theTodayshow in June 2022.
