All About Don Toliver and Kali Uchis' Relationship and Newborn Baby Boy

Don ToliverandKali Uchisare now a family of three!

The couple, who have been linked since 2021,announced the birth of their first child together, a son, in March 2024. They shared the happy news on Instagram, writing, “you are everything we could have hoped for & more,” alongside a montage video of sweet moments between Toliver, Uchis and their newborn son.

Aside from being new parents, Uchis and Toliver are also frequent collaborators. In 2023, they worked together on the track “Fantasy” off of Uchis’ albumRed Moon in Venus.

During an appearance on Hot 97’s radio showNessa On Air, Toliver shared with hostNessa Diabwhat he loved most about Uchis.

“She’s just a good person like, you know, a lot of people don’t really care about a lot, but she’s just like a genuinely great person and just has a good heart, and that it just goes a long way with me,” he said.

Toliver and Uchis have been dating since at least 2021

The couple first sparked romance rumors when they appeared in two music videos together in 2021. Uchis starred in Toliver’s videos for “What You Need” and “Drugs N Hella Melodies,” which were both shot where her family lives in Colombia.

Speaking withW Magazinein July 2021, Toliver confirmed the relationship and shared that they “just vibe” but aren’t “crazy public.”

“I already had it in my mind to go out there and shoot a video with her incorporated into it, to make it a real-deal situation,” Toliver told the outlet about shooting the music video in Colombia. He also shared that he was able to meet some of Uchis’ family members during the trip.

The pair had been dating for a while before going public with their relationship after meeting through a mutual friend in Houston, perElle.

They bonded over their passion for music

In part, the artists built a connection through their mutual passion for music. During an interview withEllein March 2023, Uchis shared that music gives the two “a whole different way to connect” as they can “just get on a microphone and bounce melodies off each other.”

“And we love listening to music together,” she added. “That was one of the first ways we really bonded: We just showed each other a bunch of music. We have pretty much the same tastes, so it comes naturally.”

Toliver and Uchis have collaborated on multiple songs

In addition to joint music video appearances, the couple have collaborated on several songs together. Uchis is featured on two of Toliver’s tracks, “Drugs N Hella Melodies” and “4 Me,” while he can be heard on her song “Fantasy.”

Speaking withCosmopolitanin February 2024, Uchis said she values Toliver’s thoughts on her music.

“It’s always nice to get his opinion because he’s, like, an OG Kuchi himself,” she said, referencing the name of her fandom.

While the pair do give each other feedback on their music, Toliver said during his appearance onNessa On Airthat they also try to give each other freedom to create.

“We just try to sharpen each other on whatever we’re trying to do,” he said. “But I really just let her do her thing. She let me do my thing, and it works.”

They made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Grammys

Uchis and Toliver made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Grammys, where the “telepatía” singer was nominated for best música urbana album forSin Miedo (Del Amor Y Otros Demonios) 8.

The songstress donned an olive green Dolce & Gabbana dress with gold cross jewelry, while Toliver opted for a black two-piece suit and white loafers.

They’re very supportive of each other

Uchis and Toliver are each other’s biggest fans and have found a way to support each other through their busy careers. During her March 2023 interview withElle, Uchis shared that the two often travel with each other for work commitments.

“I feel like it’s a beautiful thing to travel the world with somebody you love,” she said. “He comes on my tours, and I go on his. That’s how we figured out how to do our lives.”

Toliver also opened up onNessa On Airabout how proud he is of her musical success.

“She sets out to do the things that she wants to do and just accomplish them. I just watch, and I’m just in awe and just happy that she’s able to do so,” he said. “I love that.”

Toliver and Uchis keep their romance fairly private

“Being in a public relationship, it definitely has its moments. Where you’re like, ‘Omg, I wish everybody would shut the f— up,’ ” she said. “We definitely try to keep our relationship as private as possible.”

“my heart was born in the month of June !!! celebrating you & grateful for you every day 🎂🍧🍰🧁,” she wrote in the caption.

A month later, Toliver shared avideoof himself serenading Uchis onstage for her birthday. He wrote in the caption, “I Would Sing This Song To You A Million Times Over.. It’s Your Birthday ‼️ An I’m Beyond Proud Of YOu.🫶 Thank you For Everything You Do Pook 🦋 ❤️‍🩹👑💕🥹🙌🏿🫂.”

In January 2024, Uchis and Toliver revealed they were expecting their first child together in her music video for “Tu Corazón Es Mio.” In the video, the two can be seen attending doctor’s appointments together and dancing in a room filled with stained-glass windows.

“Starting our family❤️‍🩹 don’t take too long to get here little pooks, mom & dad can’t wait to share our life with you,” the couple wrote in a joint post onInstagram.

However, the couple did not reveal their son’s name or date of birth.

Uchis hopes to be a successful working mom

Speaking withCosmopolitanin February 2024, Uchis cited singerVictoria Monétas a role model for how to be a working mom in the music industry.

“When you get pregnant, a lot of people assume that’s your retirement, so seeing Victoria never stop hitting her peak is so inspiring,” she said. “My intention is just to keep creating from the heart and making whatever I want to make. What I always aspire to do with my music is to be unpredictable. That’s what makes what I do fun. I want to keep people guessing.”
