Lainey Wilsonand her sister, Janna Wilson Sadler, are two peas in a pod.

The country singer and her sibling grew up together in a small town in Louisiana with their parents, Brian and Michelle Wilson. Despite her rising fame, Lainey still fondly recalls her childhood with Janna and how it inspired her work, like the song, “Two Story House.”

“I remember that the bedroom walls were pink, and there was stuff strewn everywhere,” the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer told PEOPLE in 2021. “If our parents told us to clean up our room, we would just shove it all under the bed. Everything that was hers was mine, or at least that’s what I thought.”

Today, the sisters remain close, and Janna opened up about how much Lainey means to her in a sweet poston Instagram.

She’s married

Janna married her husband, professional rancher Taylor Sadler, on Dec. 13, 2014.

In honor of their wedding anniversary, she posts a heartfelt message alongside a photo every year.

She has two children

The couple welcomed Knox on May 24, 2019, weighing 7 lbs., 2 oz. “Life is about to get even more fun!” she captioned a series ofInstagram photosfrom the hospital.

Less than two years later, Janna and Taylor celebrated the arrival of Ledger on April 28, 2021, weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz. “Our sweet Ledger Wilson Sadler is beyond perfect and we are so blessed to be his parents,” she wrote inher announcementalongside snaps of the newborn.

The family loves to spend time together doing a variety of activities, includingrodeo nightsandvacations to Florida. In addition, the pair also have a dog and two cats, which Janna called a “house full” in an Instagram video with Lainey.

Lainey shared onToday’s Country Radiowith Kelleigh Bannenthat she and her sister were close growing up, and watching their dad get ready for work every morning inspired her song, “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song).”

TheYellowstoneactressopened up about their unique upbringing. According to Lainey, she and Janna grew up in a home without insulation, and their parents attached a portable building where they had a room.

“I remember every morning, before Daddy would go to work … I remember he would holler my name and I would run from the portable building into the house, and I would help him pull his blue jeans down over the top of his boots,” she recalled.

Like other siblings' relationships, Lainey and Janna remember certain details differently, including how their personal items were shared.

“She would steal all of my clothes — clean, dirty — it didn’t matter to Lainey,” Janna shared in an Instagram video about the song, to which Lainey responded, “I borrowed her clothes. Come on, now!”

The country artist opened up to PEOPLE about what it was like to take a different path than her sister. Lainey noted that “everyone has a dream,” and it was an interesting experience to see two outcomes despite being from one household.

“We grew up so close. Like the lyrics of the song say, we grew up in the same bedroom looking out the window hanging up clothes on the same line. Everyone has a different story,” she said in 2021.

The songwriter shared that although most people she went to school with are married with children, it’s not her journey, and she’s content.

“This is my story. This is my route. And I have a sense of peace that I’m making the right decision,” Lainey concluded.

She supports Lainey’s music career

Janna is Lainey’s biggest fan and often attends concerts and awards shows with her.

Janna shared on Instagram that she and her family supported Lainey at her concert inNew Orleansin September 2023 andBaton Rougethe following month. “@laineywilson killed it last night in NOLA,” she captioned a series of photos of everyone together.

Janna also attended the 2023CMA Awardsand shared snaps alongside Lainey, their parents and her husband at the event. “You are a dang good human and deserve all the wonderful things. We love you. We are so proud of you,”she wrote.
