Disney and Lucasfilm announced on Tuesday morning that they will be featured in theStar WarsmovieThe Mandalorian and Grogu. Plot details for the new project remain as mysterious as the name of Grogu’s species, but the studio announcedJon Favreauwill direct. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni will produce with Favreau.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world thatGeorge Lucascreated,” Favreau, who createdThe Mandalorianwith Feloni, said in a statement. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

The series is set in the years betweenReturn of the JediandThe Force Awakensfilms. It has brought several characters from the animated shows to live action, including Ahsoka Tano, who earned her own series.Ahsoka, starringRosario Dawsonin the title role, was released on Disney+ between August and October. Disney is now developing a second season ofAhsoka, the studio added Tuesday.
