The “BBC dad” blooper turned 7 years old this weekend — and the world got sweet photos to celebrate!
On Saturday, Professor Robert E. Kelly sharednew snapshots of his familyon X (formerly Twitter) to mark the fact that it’s been seven years since the viral video of his daughter Marion, then 4, and her younger brother James crashing their dad’s very serious BBCinterview.
“BBC Dad content. Today is the 7th anniversary of the BBC Dad blooper. So here it is again, with some recent family pictures in the thread below,” Kelly wrote in his post.
Along with the original 2017 video, the father of two shared photos in which he posed with his wife, Kim Jung-A, and his two rather grown-up children.
“These are from Marion’s birthday party today, and James and I hiking this morning,” he captioned one set of four photos.

The family posed together in the top two photos, and Marion concentrated on serving her cake as James looked on in the third. In the final photo, James and Kelly stopped for a selfie while hiking.
The thread also featured photos of Kelly posing with Marion while on a hike and the children spending time with Santa Claus in December 2023.
The last set of photos showed the Kelly family posing in front of a Christmas tree and with relatives over the 2023 holidays.
In a particularly festive photo in the set, James sported a Santa hat as he sat on his dad’s shoulders. Marion and Jung-A also donned red Santa hats as they stood on either side of Kelly.
His daughter took his open office door as an invitation to crash his interview.

“Pardon me, my apologies,” Kelly said calmly as his wife tried to herd the children out of the room. Jung-A was eventually successful and was sure to reach in and close the door to prevent further interruption, however adorable it was.
