Billie Eilishis putting down a boundary when it comes to questions about her sexuality.
The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter attendedVariety’s Hitmakers Brunch on Saturday, where she and her brotherFinneas O’Connellwere awarded the outlet’s film song of the year honor for “What Was I Made For?” their song from theBarbiemovie. But while saying thanks for the milestone on Instagram Sunday, Eilish made it clear that she’s no longer answering about her sexual orientation.
“I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares,” she wrote alongside a gallery of photos from the event, after claiming that she was outed “on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters.”

Eilish, 21, first opened up about her sexuality in November, revealing in a candid interview forVariety’s The Power of Women issuethatshe was attracted to women.
“I never really felt like I could relate to girls very well,” she said, while discussing feeling like other women didn’t like her. “I love [women] so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”

Her remarks made headlines, inspiringfollow-up questions fromVarietyon the red carpet at Saturday’s event. Asked if she had intended to come out in the issue, Eilish said “No, I didn’t,” adding, “I kind of thought, ‘Wasn’t it obvious?'…I didn’t realize people didn’t know.”
“I just don’t really believe in it,” she added as she spoke about the idea of coming out. “I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?' I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops.”
The Oscar winner explained that she saw the article and thought “Oh… I guess… I came out today!” Said Eilish: “…OK cool. But it’s exciting to me because I guess people didn’t know… but it’s cool that they know.”
“Ooh, I’m nervous talking about it!” she then said, before finishing with, “But… I am for the girls!”
