Bride-to-Be Pleads for Help on TikTok After Flight to Her Wedding Is Canceled

Mar. 15, 2025

A woman is seeking help after learning the flight she and her fiancé were supposed to take to their wedding was canceled.

“We are flying to our wedding tomorrow morning and United just told us that our flight is canceled,“Emma Degerstedtexplained in aTikTokposted on Tuesday.

In the video, Degerstedt said that after learning her flight was canceled, she began to search for other options. While the timings of the other flights weren’t ideal – and she and her fiancé wouldn’t be able to sit next to each other – they were willing to do anything to get to their wedding. So, she selected the 6 a.m. flight and pressed click.

“When people told me that things were going to go wrong the week of your wedding, I thought the florist would forget and we wouldn’t have flowers at our wedding, like things I could manage,” Degerstedt continued. “Not that like we wouldn’t get there for our wedding. United, help.”

In afollow-up videoposted later that day, the bride-to-be explained why her original flight was canceled. “Remember that Alaska Airlines flight where the door fell off, that was our plane. aBoeing MAX 9. It was recalled because doors are flying off.”

She continued: “I was like how many planes of these are in existence that just got recalled? Like, do we have to call everyone coming to our wedding and warn them about their flight? Oh no no, there’s only 80 of them…and we happen to be on one of the 80 United Boeing MAX 9 planes in the entire United States.”

“I have a stress rash starting now,” Degerstedt added. “Nothing else can happen now, right? We’re done?”

Degerstedt’s comment section was flooded with advice from people suggesting what she and her fiancé should do. “So why not just cancel get a full refund and rebook with another airline 🤔” one user wrote.

“Look at other carriers. Alaska and United are the only domestic carriers with Max 9s,” someone else suggests.

However, other TikTokers questioned why the couple waited until the day before their wedding to fly out.

“Flying to your wedding, the day before your wedding, in the winter is crazy. Being shocked that your flight is canceled in the winter is even crazier,” someone commented.

Another wrote: “I don’t know who didn’t tell you to fly out earlier than a day before your flight 😭.”
