On her podcastBusy Philipps Is Doing Her Best, the actress shared that her teen had a seizure over the weekend, which Philipps saw over FaceTime as Birdie attends boarding school in Sweden. Philipps shares Birdie and Cricket, 11, with ex-husband Marc Silverstein, 52.

“The paramedics were on FaceTime and she hadjust come out of the seizureand she was still in the post-aura state. They were like, hooking her up with stuff and on FaceTime,” the mom of two said.

“I feel stuck. My therapist yesterday said, she was like ‘You sound like you’re disassociating.’ And I understand because I feel like this year has, I don’t understand what’s happening. I feel stuck in a f—ing movie, in a way that’s not even disassociating, just like I keep getting put in different movies. And I just want to be in mine, like my life again. Like my movie, where it’s OK.”

“Her friend who was with her, she was holding the phone so she was kind of, it was like this weird medium shot. So you could see everything that was happening. So it felt, it was just so weird.”

“She was reaching toward the camera and just saying like, calling out for me. Just saying, ‘Mama. Mama. Mama. Where are you? Mama.'”

Speaking with PEOPLE in August, theDawson’s Creekalum talked aboutgiving herself graceas a mom.

“It’s a constant process. Parenting isconstantly learning, and I think one thing that I try to return to is that I’m not going to nail it every time,” Philipps said. “The important thing is that I’m able to acknowledge and apologize when I need to, and also give myself grace and move on.”

She continued, “I have a tendency to be really hard on myself, so continually reminding myself, that no one’s a perfect parent and no one wants you to be a perfect parent. I think kids would be really boring if they all had perfect parents.”
