Charles Meltonis no stranger to dating in the public eye.

TheRiverdalealumis quicklygaining attentionas a leading man for his breakout role inMay December, but he has also been linked to some famous leading ladies offscreen.

Most notably,The Sun Is Also a Staractor was in an off-and-on-again relationship with hisRiverdalecostarCamila Mendes, who also played his love interest on the CW series.

The coupledated for a yearbeforeparting ways in December 2019. Though they sparkedreconciliation rumorsin June 2021, Mendes has since moved on withherMúsicacostar Rudy Mancuso.

Though Melton doesn’t often speak about his partners, he has gone on the record to say that he loves love itself.

“I think in society we have these [convictions] about what a relationship is supposed to be like – you’re supposed to do this on the first date, this on the second date, this on the third date – but it’s the passion and the love that matters and that allows you to be whoever you want,” Meltonpreviously toldHunger Magazine. “Life’s too short to not be a hopeless romantic. After meeting on the set ofRiverdaleseason 2, when Melton took over the role of Reggie from Ross Butler, the onscreen couple began dating in real life. In October 2018,Mendes confirmed their romanceon Instagram, sharing a photo of Melton kissing her on the forehead with the caption, “Mine.”

At the premiere, Mendes gushed about her boyfriend, revealing thatMelton is just as swoon-worthy in real life. “He does [write me love letters]. He’s a hopeless romantic, for sure,” she toldEntertainment Tonight.

The couple eventuallycelebrated their one-year anniversaryin August 2019, with Mendes marking the milestone on Instagram. “365 days. i love you,” Mendes captioned a photo of them, which showed theRiverdalestars kissing on a boat with a stunning view of the sun setting above water behind them.

In December 2019, E! News reported thatthe couple was taking a break. Though they sparkedreconciliation rumorsin June 2021, their relationship fizzled out shortly after. Mendes has since moved on withherMúsicacostar Rudy Mancuso.

Beforeher whirlwind romance with Pete Davidson,Chase Sui Wonderswas previously linked to Melton. The couple first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted together in March 2022.

While they kept a relatively low profile in the months that followed, they confirmed their relationship on Instagram in July 2022; Melton shared a photo of the two leaning into each other while sporting matching Brooklyn Cyclones hats at a baseball game. Later that month, Melton supported Wonders at a screening of her movieBodies Bodies Bodies, which also starred Davidson.

Melton and Wonders eventually sparked breakup rumors when the actress was spotted attending a New York Rangers game with Davidson, alongside their castmate Rachel Sennott.

In May 2023, Melton was linked toAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.actress Chloe Bennet after he was seen walking with his arm around her in Beverly Hills. At the time, a source told PEOPLE the couple had “beenquietly dating for a few months."
