Chip Gainesknows the old adage is true: happy wife (and goats), happy life!
TheFixer Upperstar, 49, shared a video on Instagram of him making use of the massive bouquet of roses he’d gifted to his wifeJoanna Gainesfor Valentine’s Day, now past their prime a little over a week after the holiday.
“I’ve got a strict policy around the farm, especially aroundValentine’s Day” he explains in the selfie video shared toInstagramon Thursday.
Panning his camera to a large bunch of pink roses, Chip shares that his theory on the holiday marked for lovers is to “go big, or go home.”
But now that Valentine’s Day has passed, where do the wilting flowers go?
According to Chip, “Once the queen Joanna is through enjoying them,” it’s their goats' turn.
The clip shows the handyman grabbing the flowers and tossing them on the ground. “I would say nothing goes to waste around here,” he adds before calling his group of goats to feast on the flowers.
The couple’sChristmas trees also go to the goatswhen they’re done with them.
The flowers aren’t the only thing sporting a little damage in the video.
“Sorry about my face, it looks a little worse than it is,” Chip says, while showing some healing cuts on his cheek and jaw. While Chip didn’t tell viewers how he ended up with this particular injury fans have seen him rack up plenty of bruises while goofing around on construction sites in many past seasons ofFixer Upper.
