Chris Young's Attorney Demands TABC 'Drop the Charges' Against Singer and 'Apologize' for Arrest

Chris Young’s attorney is seeking justice for the country singerfollowing his arrestat a Nashville bar earlier this week.

Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, tells PEOPLE in a statement, “What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong and he never should have been arrested and charged in the first place.”

Ramsey continues, “In light of the video evidence, Tennessee ABC needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional and professional harm done towards my client.”

The agents then moved on to neighboring bar DawgHouse Saloon, with Young and multiple friends allegedly following and speaking with its staff. As the TABC agents looked to exit the location, Young reached out and, according to the affidavit, “struck” one of them on the shoulder.

Young will release his new album,Young Love & Saturday Nights,on March 22.
