Colorado Professor Was Fatally Stabbed in Her Home, Police Identify Suspect Months Later

The body of Haleh Abghari was found in her Colorado Springs, Colo., home in August, local police said in astatement.

This week, police announced a second-degree murder warrant against Ceasar Lorenzo Wilson, who has not yet been located, per the statement.

On Aug. 12, police responded to an “unknown call for service” around 7 a.m., and found Abghari, 54, dead with a stab wound, they said in the statement.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy. While the cause and manner of death have not yet been released, police say they are looking into the case as a homicide. The coroner’s office did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for further information.

The investigation led officers to Wilson, 53, and police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police did not comment on how, or if, Abghari and Wilson knew each other.

Police are requesting help from the community to locate Wilson, but have warned citizens to not approach him because he is considered “armed and dangerous,” they said in the statement.
