Don Lemonhas revealed his next career move, announcing the launch of a self-titled newscast. The Don Lemon Showhas not yet received a premiere date, but will stream first on social media site X.

“I’ve heard you… and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer!” said Lemon, who wasousted from CNN after 17 yearslast April, in astatementon Tuesday. “My new media company’s first project is The Don Lemon Show. It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and wherever you want it, streaming on the platforms where the conversations are happening.”

Lemon and X also announced their new “content partnership,” meaning the 30-minute episodes will air onElon Musk’s social media site before reaching other platforms.

“I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors,” wrote Lemon. “This is just the beginning so stay tuned.”

Lemon has faced speculation about a possible comeback over the past several months, asserting to ABC24 in July that he was “not going to let other people’s timeline influence me.”

“I think sometimes people rush to make decisions and they end up making the wrong decisions,” he told the outlet, also noting that his first priority in a new role would be freedom to “tell the truth.”

Lemon’s departure from CNN was sudden, with the longtime anchor breaking the news himself and alleging that the decision came out of left field.

He continued: “At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.”

Shortly after Lemon blasted the network, CNN’s public relations team released a counter statement accusing him of misrepresenting the way that things went down. “Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” CNN Communications posted. “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”

Two months before leaving the network, Lemon faced backlash for making sexist remarks during a broadcast ofCNN This Morning. While chatting with co-hostsPoppy HarlowandKaitlan Collins, he claimed that 51-year-old Republican presidential candidateNikki Haleywas no longer “in her prime,” then defining a woman’s prime as her “20s and 30s and maybe 40s.”
