Bad Bunnygot a special 30th birthday shout out fromDwayne “The Rock” Johnsonat the2024 Oscars.
Before naming British filmThe Zone of Interestasthe winner, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and Johnson spoke about the impact films have had on the world.
“Cinema is a universal language that speaks to the common threads that bind us together,” Bad Bunny said in Spanish, right after the pair walked out to Charles Aznavour’s “Hier Encore,” which is also sampled in the singer’s hit song “Monaco.”
“Beautifully said,” Johnson remarked. “You see, he’s not such a bad bunny. Happy Birthday, brother.”
“Gracias. Thank you,” Bad Bunny responded.
Bad Bunny marked his 30th birthday on March 10. “Trienta,” the singer wrote in anInstagram captionearlier that day under a photo of himself holding what appeared to be a glass of beer. The Grammy winner is currently on his Most Wanted Tour to promote his fifth studio albumNadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, but took a stop to present on cinema’s biggest night.
Johnson, who wasPEOPLE’s 2016 Sexiest Man Alive, also has exciting things in store. He recently announced his return forMoana 2, the animated sequel to the 2016 hitMoana,and debuted men’s grooming linePapatuion Sunday.
