The couple stepped out in Los Angeles Tuesday night for the premiere of Murphy’s new holiday comedyCandy Cane Lane, which is streaming Friday on Prime Video.

Murphy, 62, sported a Gucci bomber jacket over a black turtleneck and black slacks as he was snapped with his arm around his fiancée’s waist, smiling for the camera.

Butcher, 44, opted for a black blazer-style mini dress with a cut-out midsection, black tights and black knee-high boots. She accessorized with understated jewelry, letting her blonde hair hang straight over her shoulders in a side-parted style.

The event marked a rare red-carpet appearance from Murphy and Butcher, whogot engaged in September 2018and share two children: daughterIzzy, 7, and sonMax, who turns 5 on Thursday.

Murphy also posed with hisCandy Cane Lanecostars includingTracee Ellis Ross, who plays his character Chris' wife Carol in the film.

PEOPLErecently spoke withthe father of 10 and Ellis Ross, 51, about their new movie, which the latter remembered feeling was “very charming” when she read the script.

“And there was magic, the element of magic. There’s special effects. AndEddie Murphy was in it. Eddie Murphy was in it, and Eddie Murphy was in it," she added. “And then because Eddie Murphy was in it, I was like, ‘This might be fun.' "

The actress said they hit it off on day one: “The first day of work, he said, ‘Hello,’ and he said my full name, ‘Tracee Ellis Ross.’ And that was it.”

He makes a deal with a “mischievous elf” named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances at winning the competition when she casts a “magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life and wreaks havoc on the whole town.”

Aside from Murphy, Ellis Ross and Bell, 39,Candy Cane Lane’s cast also includes Thaddeus J. Mixson,Ken Marino,Nick Offerman,Robin ThedeandChris Redd.

“I can say confidently you’ve never seena holiday movielike this!” Hudlin, 61, previously told PEOPLE. “We have jump scares, car chases and kung-fu fighting, plus all the holiday feels.”
