Ellen Pompeo's Daughter Stella Joins Her for Rare Public Outing at Emmys: 'We Had the Best Night'

Ellen Pompeobrought a special guest to the Emmys!

In a newInstagrampost, Pompeo published a sweet video alongside her eldest child before they headed to the awards ceremony. Pompeo shares Stella,Sienna May, 9, andEli Christopher, 6, with her husbandChris Ivery.

Pompeo smiled from ear to ear as she and Stella laughed in each other’s embrace.

The actress was dressed in a Monique Lhuillier silver shirt, which showed off her bra underneath. She paired the top with a black necktie, a black silk maxi-skirt and diamond stud earrings. Meanwhile, her daughter sported a black strapless jumpsuit.

“Thank you again, to everyone that made this happen yesterday! We had the best night 👯‍♀️,” Pompeo wrote in her Instagram caption.

She also shared a funny Instagram Story, showing off the less glamorous parts of the awards ceremony preparation. In the brief video, Pompeo is seen lying flat in the front seat of her car, trying not to crease her silk skirt.

As Stella smiles for the camera, Pompeo giggles and shouts, “This is like pilates!” She remains in a stiff, upright plank position. She poked fun at herself, captioning the clip, “Oh, the glamour…”

“When the first episode ofGrey’s Anatomyaired in March 2005, I’m not sureShonda Rhimesknew that she had created a show that will have a lasting influence on television and create lifelong friendships,” said Pompeo.

Chambers noted how the show and its “400 episodes and counting” have become a “tribute to everyone who is now part of our family.”

Heigl then thanked the show’s loyal fan base, calling them “one thing that had remained a constant.”

After 19 seasons, Pompeo officiallystepped backas series lead of the ABC drama.

Pompeo and Heigl, 45, reunited in June for aVarietyinterview, in which Pompeo admitted she didn’t have the “stamina” to watch the series with Stella as she watched for the first time.

“At first, I was like, ‘Oh, this is so amazing, and we’re going to watch it together,'” Pompeo toldVariety. “Then it was episode after episode after episode, and I was like, ‘I don’t have the stamina for this!'”

“I filmed all these episodes; I can’t now go back and watch it again,” she added.
