Fat Joeis the latest to take a stand against the lack of price transparency in healthcare.

Power to the Patients is a nonprofit founded in 2021 dedicated to creating a more affordable healthcare system via price transparency.

Then-PresidentDonald Trumpsigned an executive order in 2021 requiring hospitals to make the prices of their services public. PresidentJoe Bidenfollowed it up with an executive order for the Department of Health and Human Services to actually enforce it.

As for how compliance is enforced, hospitals are typically given warnings instead of fines.
