Former NFL running back Eddie Lacy was arrested late Monday night on four DUI charges – including an extreme DUI charge – and possessing an open container inside the vehicle, police in Arizona say.

In the state, anextreme DUI charge– for a Blood Alcohol Concentration of at least .15% – is a misdemeanor.

Lacy was arrested around 10:40 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, after a caller dialed 911 trying “to locate a possible impaired driver,” and provided a description of the vehicle, according to police.

In March 2022 Lacy was charged in a five-count case in Scottsdale City Court involving a DUI, including two counts of extreme DUI. Four of the charges – including one of the extreme DUI charges – were dismissed at the request of the city attorney, per the online case information. Lacy pleaded guilty to having an extreme DUI with a BAC of at least .20 and was fined $3,259.20.

Before that case was closed in December 2022, Lacy pleaded guilty that September to driving with a license suspended, revoked or canceled. Other related charges were dismissed at the request of the city attorney.

This August Lacy was charged with speeding through a school zone. Last month, he was charged with speeding again. Both of those civil cases remain ongoing.

It was not immediately clear if Lacy had retained a lawyer for his Sept. 30 DUI case or for when his first court appearance was slated.
