Inmate records show the former New York Giants running back, who won a Super Bowl ring with the team in 2008, is facing at least one felony charge. His bail is set at $250,000.
Police allege Ward robbed at least five businesses in Southern California, according toNBC News. The retired running back did not use a firearm during any of the robberies, police told the outlet. TMZclaimsWard did use force, however.
It is not immediately clear whether Ward has hired or been assigned a defense attorney. Ward has not yet entered a plea and there is no information from the sheriff’s department about an upcoming court date.
