Geri Halliwell-Hornerand her husband, Christian Horner, are a match made in heaven.

A year and a half after their wedding, the singer and athlete welcomed a son named Monty. The pair have since fostered a blended family, helping co-parent Geri’s daughter, Bluebell Madonna Halliwell, from her relationship with British director Sacha Gervasi and Christian’s daughter, Olivia Horner, from his marriage to Beverley Allen.

In a 2023 interview withThe Telegraph, Christian got candid about his relationship with the singer.

“Life works in mysterious ways. I didn’t marry Geri because she’s a Spice Girl. I married her because I fell in love with her,” he said. “It will be 10 years this time next year and we’ve been happily married for seven.”

They met at a race

Geri and Christian crossed paths several times before they began dating. The Formula 1 manager toldThe Telegraphthat he first happened upon his future wife at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2009.

“[Geri] was a guest of [former CEO of the Formula One Group] Bernie Ecclestone’s in Monaco one year and came down the pit lane,” he explained. “I remember [McLaren boss] Ron Dennis was standing next to me and Eddie Jordan was there as well.”

Christian added that he hoped to have a sweet greeting from Geri, but it went a little differently than expected.

“She gave Ron a kiss on the cheek, and she gave Eddie a kiss on the cheek. So I thought, ‘OK, I’m on for a kiss on the cheek here!’ And I went to give her one and she shoved her hand out at me!” he recalled with amusement.

They made their red carpet debut at an F1 event

Geri and Christian first stepped out as a couple at a racing charity event in July 2014. Earlier that same year, Geri and Christian were spotted atPoppy Delevingneand James Cook’s wedding reception at Kensington Palace Gardens, walking hand-in-hand alongside Geri’s daughter Bluebell.

They announced their engagement in a newspaper ad

“The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A Parkinson,” the listing inThe Timesread, perThe Huffington Post.

Afterward, Geri spoke out about the personal newson X(formerly known as Twitter). “Christian and I are delighted to announce that we are engaged! We’re both very happy. 😊,” she wrote.

They wed in England in 2015

In his March 2023 interview withThe Telegraph, Christian opened up about how their blended family has made it work.

“I have a great relationship with Beverley and Beverley gets on with Geri, and Geri is great with Olivia and Olivia has a lovely relationship with Monty,” he told the outlet of his family members' relationships. “It’s totally harmonious.”

The former Spice Girl posted a sweet tribute to honor her stepdaughter’s 10th birthday in October 2023.

“Happy Birthday Olivia! 10 today 🥳.We love you so much! You’re amazing!” she wrote onInstagramwith a photo of the pair.

Geri has appeared in a racing show and movie

Geri appeared alongside her husband in the Netflix seriesFormula 1: Drive to Survive.The Red Bull Racing manager often shot scenes with Geri and their family in their sprawling Oxfordshire home.

The “Spice Up Your Life” singer even acted in the 2023 movieGran Turismo, which fictionalized the true story of a gamer-turned-pro racer.

Geri played the mother of the main character, and the role hit pretty close to home — Christian was the real-life boss who signed the underdog racer the film is based on.

Christian is supportive of her writing

In October 2023, Geri released her young adult novelRosie Frost and the Falcon Queen, and her husband was immediately blown away.

Geri told PEOPLE that Christian texted her after starting the book, saying, “‘I’ve read the first 135 pages. The book is great. It sucks you in, and it really is immersive.Better than I imagined. I’m very proud of you.’ "

The singer-turned-author said Christian’s praise meant a lot to her.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ He doesn’t read that often, except maybe on holiday, so when he sent me that text, I was just grinning,” she continued. “That’s so nice that he was sucked in. It is lovely.”

Gerri was “very supportive” of Christian amid allegations

In February 2024, Christian was accused of engaging in “inappropriate behavior” toward a member of his Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team. An investigation into Christian was launched, and he denied the accusations.

“I obviously deny fully the allegations that have been made against me,” he told CNN. “There’s an ongoing process and that obviously is being worked through at the moment.”

While speaking with Sky News, Christian said Gerri had been “very supportive” amid the accusations, which were not disclosed in detail at the time.

Just weeks later, Christian was cleared of the allegations after Red Bull’s investigation had been finished.

“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that thegrievance has been dismissed,” said a statement from the spokesperson for the company.
