Guest at Kate Middleton's Carol Concert Shares Behind-the-Scenes Details Ahead of Christmas Eve Broadcast

Kate Middletonspread holiday cheer at her annual Christmas carol concert.

Kate was also inspired to bring her three children,Prince George, 10,Princess Charlotte, 8, andPrince Louis, 5, to a donation center not far from their home in Windsor to do some volunteering and pack toys and clothing for families in need this holiday season.

“She has a lot of empathy and compassion. I think she doesn’t take her life for granted," Byrne adds. “She must recognize that there are families who are not as fortunate and that your surroundings and resources actually shape how you develop in your adult life."

Byrne also watched as Kate chatted – andhigh-fived — some scoutsat the carol concert.

“She was so down to earth. Although their status is there and you respect them for that, you do feel [William and Kate] are a different generation and are showing what the royal family can be about. They are not as distant as some people can be. And most importantly, the [scouts] were at ease with her.”

It will capture much of what Kate has tried to do this year, as she highlighted the work that mdiweves, teachers, kindergarten workers and academics do in the sector.

Byrne, who is also a former midwife, adds, “We are trying to break this myth that there are undeserving poor out there. The majority of people are in this situation through no fault of their own and we are trying to give dignity back to those people that they have lost,”
