There’s nothing like jamming to your favorite songs at a concert with thousands of other fans. But when I went toTaylor Swift’s Eras Tourlast spring, my ears took a couple of days to recover from the volume of the music (not to mention my fellow Swift fans singing along).
So when Loop invited me to the Austin City Limits music festival to try out the brand’s newSwitch 2 earplugsover back-to-back-to-back days of concerts, I was excited to give them a try. And now, I can’t imagine attending another concert without them.

While I was at the festival, I mostly switched back and forth between Experience and Engage Modes. Walking between stages, I mostly used Engage, which has enough noise reduction to take the edge off a loud concert while still allowing me to hear what the person next to me was saying.

During the performances, I switched to the more powerful Experience Mode. To my surprise, rather than everything feeling muffled and distorted, it felt like I had turned the volume down just a bit on the entire festival. It wasn’t until I popped my earplugs out during one of the sets that I realized just how much they were helping — and I immediately vowed to have them in my bag at every concert I go to in the future.
While I’m not lucky enough to be heading to the last leg of the Eras Tour, I recommend grabbing a pair of Loop Switch 2 earbuds if you are. To dress your earplugs up with an Eras Tour tradition, pick up aLoop Linkcord to keep your earplugs attached and decorate it with plastic beads for an oversizedfriendship braceletyou definitely won’t want to trade. If you have a fellow music lover on your holiday shopping list, these earplugs are a great gift, too.
Plus, as my Apple Watch likes to remind me in the middle of a concert, regular exposure to sound over 85 decibels cancause long-term hearing damage. TheLoop earplugseasily help ears stay safe.
