In the first trailer that debuted Tuesday, the former Superman actor, 40, leads a “secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks,” according to a synopsis, that “goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques.”

“Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare,” the synopsis reads.

Cavill called costar Ritchson, 41, “the man mountain with a heart of gold,” who has “wisdom and talent that can sweep you off your feet.” About Pettyfer, 33, Cavill said he is “the lover, the laugher, the warmth of a big smile and a jaw line that would challenge the Turkish mountains.”

Golding, 36, has “a snap quick acting reaction time” and is “handsome beyond belief and always a man I was happy to see,” he added.

“And the last (but not the least) of my immediate team of misfits, Hero Fiennes Tiffin - a mega star in the making. I know a lot of you know him already, but my oh my he’s going to have a magnificent career,” Cavill added of the 26-year-old actor.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfarein theaters April 19.
