The actor told PEOPLE earlier this month thathe loves being a grandfatherto his “six and three-quarters grandchildren,” India, Ace, Lulu, Jules, Gus, Francis Joan and one on the way.

“It is different, completely different than being a parent, " the dad of three told PEOPLE, “but it is filled with the same emotion.”

While Winkler shared that “every one of them is different,” his household rules have remained steady.

“Now the rules in the house, and there are a few, only a few, are the same,” he told PEOPLE. “When the youngest granddaughter is sleeping, there is no fighting, there is no yelling. They are in charge of their friends to keep it down. "

Last but not least, Winkler said, “No matter what age they are, from 14 to 7, they have to clear their dish.”

Winkler has been married to his wife Stacey since 1978. The couple share children Max, 38, and Zoe Emily, 42, along with his stepson, Jed Weitzman, 51, from Stacey’s previous marriage to lawyer Howard Weitzman.

In June 2023, Winkler appeared onThe Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing that he loves to dance with his grandkids on TikTok.

“I’m only on TikTok with my grandkids,” the actor told Jennifer Hudson. “My oldest granddaughter, India, said ‘Papa, you have to make a TikTok.'”

“So I think I’ve made 7 or 8, but only, mostly, with them,” he confirmed, later sharing that he “loves dancing” after growing up seeing the folk ballet andWest Side Story.
