Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson’s husband,Ryan Scott Anderson, is opening up about how he proposed with a ring in prison.

The couple shared the story of their relationship inThe Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, from the first time they exchanged words via email to the moment Ryan proposed to Gypsy, 32, while she was still behind bars.

“So I was like well, I’m still smitten with you, like ever,” he said in the Lifetime docuseries, adding that he had fallen “in love with her a long time ago.”

So, for his third visit to Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center where Gypsy was serving a 10-year prison sentence for her role in the fatal stabbing of her mother,Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, he did not show up empty handed.

“She had her makeup done and she looked so cute, and I was sitting across from her and I looked at her, and I just knew,” he remembered. “It’s just one of those things. You know. And we had something special, we had that chemistry. And I asked her to marry me.”

Recalling the moment herself, his now-wife remembered him saying, “Gypsy Blanchard, I love you more than anything I’ve ever loved, and I would be the happiest man in the world if you would be my wife. Will you marry me?”

“And I said, ‘Yes.’ And he put the ring on my finger,” said Gypsy.
