Jacob Elordi Reportedly Involved in Australia Investigation Following Altercation with Radio Producer

Jacob Elordiis reportedly involved in a police investigation in Australia after an altercation at a hotel involving a radio producer.

TheSaltburnactor, 26, was at a hotel in Sydney on Monday when Joshua Fox, who works for iHeartRadio’s Australian morning showThe Kyle and Jackie O Show, approached the actor, permultipleoutlets.

As the show’s host and Fox recounted duringSunday’s episode, the radio program had sent Fox to ask Elordi about obtaining some of hisbathwater— in reference to a viral scene fromSaltburn— as a “birthday present” for one of the show’s hosts, Jackie O. In an alleged audio recording of the encounter between Fox and Elordi, the actor can be heard asking, “Are you kidding? Are you filming? Can you not, man, please?”

According to Fox, Elordi asked him to delete a recording of their interaction and demanded to see Fox delete it. It’s at that moment, alleged Fox, that theEuphoriaactor pushed the producer against a wall and placed his hands on his throat.

A representative for Elordi did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Monday. In a statement shared with PEOPLE, the New South Wales Police said it is investigating the incident, and no charges have been brought.

Fox said that Elordi released him after a moment and walked away from the encounter — though he said a friend of Elordi’s asked him again to make sure he deleted the footage as he walked away. He also said on Sunday’s show that police initially contacted him to tell him they obtained security footage from outside the hotel should Fox decide to make a statement.

“[I said] I refused to [fully delete the footage immediately] because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence [of the encounter] and then Jacob kind of just flips his hands and pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat,” he said.
