James Van Der Beek Celebrates Daughter Annabel as She Hits Major Milestone: 'Our Heaven Turned Double Digits'

James Van Der Beek’sdaughter is officially in the double digits!

The proud mom also shared a photo of herself and her daughter as they sat together, as well as a photo of her with her siblings in the car.

“Annabel, our third, our heaven, turned double digits!” Kimberly wrote in her caption.

The actor also took a minute to celebrate his daughter on her monumental birthday, postinga Reel to his Instagramas the father-daughter pair played with Annabel’s curly hair.

“Ten years old today. The second we got to meet you, I knew we were in for an adventure. And while you clearly know fun… it’s the purity of your heart at which I marvel,” he wrote. “Your sincerity, your kindness, and the depth with which you care is so reliable, it sets the bar for the whole family.”

“And what I’ve appreciated as you’ve gotten older is your honesty: How bravely you’ve expressed the feelings and emotions that don’t get celebrated in an IG post. Keep it coming, kid… I’m here for all of it.”

He shared how grateful he is to know his daughter, adding “Always know you are treasured. I love you with all my heart.”

James and his wife are parents to six kids —Jeremiah, 2,Gwendolyn, 5,Emilia, 7,Annabel,Joshua, 11, andOlivia, 13.

For Halloween this year, theDawson’s Creekalum, 46,showed off his six kids' picksfor costumeson Instagram, penning a lengthy caption about the holiday. His kids all chose different costumes, ranging from angels to skeletons to James' own costume, which was “steampunk pirate.”

“I believe it’s healthy to dress up and play make-believe every once in a while. To step into someone else’s shoes and dance within new energetics,” the father of six said of the holiday.

He even weighed in on the candy debate, writing, “As for the candy? As parents, we’re trying to upgrade. I’ve had some success offering my kids cash for their stash (an offer, for the record, I would NOT have taken as a kid 😂).““But with everything going on right now… a night of fantasy was just what we needed,” he added.

In May, the actor spoke to PEOPLE abouthaving a “humbling” lifewith his six kids. While discussing his family’s commitment to an hour of uninterrupted play each day, James said that getting all six of his kids outside “feels like the antidote to getting on a screen.”

Talking about spending time with his kids in and around their Texas home, James told PEOPLE, “We’re lucky enough to have the space to kick a ball around.”
