Jenna Bush Hager Recalls ‘Hideous’ Yellow Outfit She Wore to Her Grandfather's White House Christmas Party

Jenna Bush Hagerwasn’t always the stylish morning show host she is now — in fact, as theTodayshow personality shared this week, she had her awkward moments.

On Monday, the former first daughter shared a throwback photo of her and her twin sister,Barbara Pierce Bush, at a White House Christmas party taken during the administration of her grandfather, PresidentGeorge H.W. Bush.

In thephoto shared here, she can be seen alongside her grandfather, grandmotherBarbara Bushand sister while wearing a yellow button-up shirt, dark floral tie and plaid skirt.

The throwback was raised during asegment on embarrassing outfits that airedToday with Hoda & Jenna.Co-host Bush Hager, 42, chimed in on the topic to say, “I have one outfit that really stands the test of time. And ‘stand the test of time’ means it’s just hideous."

“The boy to the right is me,” she joked. “In the tie and the mustard shirt.”

“It is a Christmas partyatthe White House, so it feels like the type of photo that you may want to look at time and time again,” Hager continued, adding: “And when I look at him, I just think, ‘Who is he? Who is that little surfer boy?’ And it’s me."

“The fact that she let me wear a kilt and a mustard shirt with a tie from the Limited Too, mind you,” Bush Hager said, adding: “She didn’t control me … She let my freak flag fly,” of her mother, former first ladyLaura Bush.

Bush Hager’s father,George W. Bush, would go on to serve as the United States' 43rd president, from 2001 to 2009.
