Lange, 74, is set to take the stage as one of the evening’s presenters. Other stars who will be handing out awards Sunday night includeMahershala Ali,Nicolas Cage,Jamie Lee Curtis,Brendan Fraser,Matthew McConaughey,Lupita Nyong’o,Ke Huy Quan,Michelle Yeoh,Zendaya,Chris Hemsworth,Dwayne JohnsonandRegina King.

Although Lange doesn’t walk as many red carpets as she used to, the Hollywood icon is as busy as ever. The actress is currently guest starring on FX’sFeud: Capote vs. the Swans, and in April, she’ll return to Broadway inMother PlayoppositeJim Parsons.

Lange is certainly no stranger to the Oscars stage, either. Not only did she win best actress in 1995 forBlue Skyand best supporting actress in 1983 forTootsie, she was also nominated for her work inFrancis,Country,Sweet DreamsandMusic Box. Add in a prolific career in television, which includes her Emmy-winning roles onAmerican Horror Story, as well as her thriving career on the stage, and Lange’s impact on the industry becomes clear.

“It’s always been kind of an immediate emotional reaction to the part,” she explained of how she decides which projects to take on. “Often in the reading of the script, I would come to a moment where I could actually imagine playing that.”

Lange also revealed one of her favorite films of the year is best picture nomineeAnatomy of a Fall. “You look at some of the best films of the past year … my favorite wasAnatomy of a Fall,” she said. “How often do we get to see a film like that, where the ambiguity of things is never sewn up?”
