Jo Koy Reacts to Taylor Swift Sipping Her Drink After His Joke About Her Fell Flat at Golden Globes: 'It Was Cute'

Taylor Swiftwas less than impressed when hostJo Koyshouted her out during the2024 Golden Globeson Sunday — and now the host is sharing his reaction to her response.

The comedian made a joke about Swift, 34, and the NFLduring his monologue. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” he said, adding, “I swear, there’s just more to go to.”

The singer kept a neutral face when the camera panned to her for a reaction. Then, while still on-screen, she simply took a sip of her drink and kept her eyes forward, despite the apparent dig at her andTravis Kelce’srelationship.

After the show, Koy, 52, talked toEntertainment Tonightabout the joke, and Swift’s response. “Aww man. It was cute! It was cute!” he said. “I was just saying — it’s less cutaways. That’s all!”

The comedian’s quip about the attention Swift and Kelce’s relationship has garnered comes afterratings for the NFL have skyrocketedin the months since the singer began cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in-person.

The league has embraced the newfound viewership, from promoting Chiefs games with Swift’s music tochanging their X bio to shout out the Grammy winner. The support even goes all the way to the top, withcommissioner Roger Goodell on board.

Goodell said onCBS Morningsthat the relationship was “great” as he noted that “it has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways.” He added: “I think it’s great for the league to have that kind of attention. So, we welcome it.”

The singer has alsoshared her opinion on the matter. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she said during herTIMEPerson of the Yearinterview, explaining: “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the-camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Regardless, though, Swift is only there for one reason. “I’m just there to support Travis,” she said. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she continued. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

As for the sport itself, she admitted, “Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
