“Wishing you all a Happy New Year 2024 with Shirley MacLaine 💘,” the French actress wrote in the caption for the selfies.

The two iconic actresses flashed big grins in both of the fun photos, which were snapped as they sat next to each other in a restaurant.

Aside from both being Academy award winners, Binoche and MacLaine share in common a real-life character they have both played — French designer Coco Chanel.

Speaking about the role last year, Binoche toldVariety, “There were 10 great scripts because it’s 10 episodes, and it’s going to be like playing different roles because we’ll show her at different stages of her life. But I can’t say more at this point.”

Binoche won an Academy award for Best Supporting Actress forThe English Patient(1996), while MacLaine won for Best Actress inTerms of Endearment (1983).

Last year, MacLaine celebrated the 40th anniversary of the classic film — which was nominated for 11 Oscars altogether — along with the rest of the cast which includedJack Nicholson,Jeff Daniels,Danny DeVito, andJohn Lithgow.

“The truth is that I spent maybe two months talking to great American actresses past 50, and it was fantastic. I’ll just never have a time like that again. Then, when I was with Shirley, it became clear that she was the one,” Brooks told PEOPLE in November.

“Historically, she has one of the greatest careers of any American actress. Drama is her friend, of course, but she has a comedy sense,” he added.
