Kevin McKidd Praises 'Amazing' Girlfriend Danielle Savre: 'I Feel Lucky on Many Levels' (Exclusive)

There’s nothing but love forKevin McKiddandDanielle Savre!

TheGrey’s Anatomystar couldn’t help but gush about his girlfriend at The Walt Disney Company’s 2023Emmy AwardsCelebration in Los Angeles on Monday.

“Everything’s great,” McKidd, 50, told PEOPLE at the post-Emmys party that he attending with Savre, 35. “We’re really happy and she’s an amazing human being, so I feel lucky on many levels in my life right now.”

McKidd and Savre, who stars in theGrey’sspinoffStation 19, were firstspotted together in June, the same month hefinalized his divorcefrom ex-wifeArielle Goldrath.

A few weeks after beingseen in Lake Como, Italy,McKidd shared a video of him and Savreon a safari in Lower Zambezi, a national park on the north bank of the Zambezi River in Africa.TheRomeactor called the adventure"breathtaking, awe-inspiring, humbling and uplifting."

In November, McKidd and Savre madetheir red carpet debutat the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s 15th Annual Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show in Denver. McKidd told PEOPLE Monday that his real-lifeShonda Rhimescrossover relationship “just kind of happened.”

The Scottish star recalled never thinking the ABC medical drama would run for as long as it has when he first began on the series.

“When I started on the show in season 5, because I’ve been on it now 15 years, people then were going, ‘I think we’ve got one more season. What do you think?’” McKidd recalled. “Sitting around talking about how long you think you’ve got. Most actors, if you get on a show for five years, you’re lucky.”

He creditedGrey’slongevity to “the quality of the writing” and “the quality of the stories that we’re telling."

“It’s a blessing that the fans have stuck with it like they have,” McKidd said, “and we don’t take that lightly.”

Last year, ABC picked upGrey’s Anatomyfor a20th season, which will see Pompeo, 54,reprise her roleas Meredith Grey afterleaving the show in season 19.
