Mar. 15, 2025

Decision Day is looming large for Michael.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at this week’s episode ofMarried at First Sight, the 38-year-old tells his new wife, Chloe, that he would have some reservations if Decision Day were the following day.

When Chloe, a 39-year-old Senior Director of Development, asks what he would say if the all-important day were tomorrow, he responds, “Well, I would say that I feel that we’re trending in the positive direction towards a yes.”

He then details what he would need to feel secure in saying “yes” to continuing their marriage.

“What I would need to say yes, it just feel like that we’ve not only solidified and created an emotional connection, which I think we did, but we’ve sustained it and progressed it to a degree, not just where I would say like, ‘I want to continue dating you’ because it’s not dating but I want to continue in this marriage, which I think is like a significant level,” he explains. “That’s what I would say I need.”

Chloe senses that her husband is actually holding back his true feelings, saying, “I think I might be kind of hearing a little bit that if decision day was tomorrow, you might be feeling like it’s no.”

“I would be feeling like I have insufficient data,” Michael clarifies and she adds, “Thank you for being honest about that.”

MAFS: Michael Worries New Wife Chloe Doesn’t ‘Want to Be with Me’ After She Asks for Time Apart

“So what I was thinking about was taking just the next few days to be at home with [my animals],” she shared at the time. “It has been go, go, go. I feel like everything is moving so quickly, we don’t actually have an opportunity to just process."

“That’s true,” Michael said, agreeing with his wife, as she continued to explain the reasoning behind her decision.

“Being together all the time – we don’t have a chance to think. We don’t have a chance to feel,” Chloe explained. “And I’m this deeply introverted person who needs a lot of alone time and a lot of silence to feel like I am listening to my own needs.”

She believed they needed that time apart to “give us a chance to kind of take a deep breath” — but Michael had his doubts.

“I do want her to know, though, that I support whatever she feels is best for her, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s something that’s bothering Chloe," he continued. “Like, ‘Oh well, wait a minute. Do you not wanna hang out with me? Do you not want to be with me?’ All of those things creep into my mind.”
