“That consisted of a lot of yoga, meditation and even isolation," she says. “I was confronted with the reality that these things actually happen to a lot of people. I had to acknowledge the darker parts of humanity and history.”

She’s also open about how she straddles fame and social media. “It’s such a personal journey it. I’ve learned that I have to do what makes me happy and what makes you feel most comfortable. Today, I have this public persona, and I can pick and choose what makes it on [Instagram].”

“I think that as I get more comfortable and confident in my own skin, my barometer for the things I want to share and don’t is getting a lot more efficient,” she adds. “And I have my own little burner Instagram account where I keep in touch with people and get to use social media like all of my friends.”
