Marc Summers Walked OffQuiet on SetInterview After Claiming Producers Pulled 'a Bait-and-Switch' on Him

“They ambushed me,” said Summers in a preview of his appearance on theElvis Duran and the Morning Showset to air on Friday, April 5, according toVarietyandDeadline.

“They never told me what this documentary was really about. And so they showed me a video of something that I couldn’t believe was on Nickelodeon. And I said, ‘Well, let’s stop the tape right here. What are we doing?’ ”

According toVariety, Summers expressed that he walked out after being told the documentary would detail accusations made against producerDan Schneiderand former Nickelodeon dialogue coachBrian Peck’s allegedsexual assaultofDrake Bell.

“I left. So I got a phone call about six weeks ago saying you’re totally out of the show. And I went, ‘Great.’ Then they called me about four weeks ago and said, ‘Well, you’re in it, but you’re only in the first part of it because you talked about the positive stuff of Nickelodeon,’ " said Summers.

The former Nickelodeon personality claims he was not made aware that a clip of him being shown a video on his phone and later responding, “Did that air on Nickelodeon?” would be included.

“Now we get into a whole situation about who’s unethical,” Summers said. The outlet reports that Summers claimed he never met Scheider, being thatDouble Dareoriginally ran from 1986 to 1993.

“Those people came in after and took over our studios. I never met the man, I have no idea about any of those things. I mean, I know Kenan [Thompson] fromKenan and Kelbecause we’ve done stuff together,” said Summers. “But as far as anything that happened on that show with any of those people, I never met any of them. I didn’t know anybody. But it made it seem like I knew those people.”

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, directors Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz said, “We are clear with each participant about the nature of our projects.”

A fifth episode of the docuserieswill premiere on Sunday, April 7, on Investigation Discovery. According to a press release, the new installment will “dive deeper into the toxic and dangerous culture” of some of the most iconic children’s television programs.
