Michael Imperioliwon’t be checking in toThe White Lotusseason 3, but he will definitely tune in.
While promotingAmerican Godfathers: The Five Families, which he narrated and executive produced, Imperioli, 58, tells PEOPLE about the upcoming season of the dark comedy HBO series and whether or not he’ll tune in.
“Absolutely gonna tune in,“theSopranosstarsays of season 3, which is slated to premiere in 2025. “I was very jealous that I wasn’t in it, of course, becauseit was just such a magical timedoing that show and so much fun and so rich.”
Imperioli starred in the second season ofThe White Lotusas Dominic Di Grasso, a Hollywood producer traveling to Italy with his son and father. He was nominated at the 2023 Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his performance.

Imperioli also praises the show’s creator, Mike White.
“Mike White is just a darling of a human being and a genius of a talent, you know, and it was that was like idyllic, that whole experience,” he says. “So I hope this cast, I’m sure they did experience the same thing.”

TheWhite Lotusseason 3cast is currently expected to feature Natasha Rothwell, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan and Parker Posey — the latter of whom Imperioli is particularly excited to watch.“You know, one of my favorite performers is Parker Posey in the new season, who I just think is awesome,” he says. “It makes sense to have her inThe White Lotus. I can see that.”

Imperioli says that the early days of the mob “always fascinated” him.
“It was the Italians here [that] were still very close to the immigrant experience and seeing how that evolved out of that experience was always very interesting,” he explains. “The transition between coming here, you know, newly arrived people and getting a foothold in a lot of different areas of business and stuff like that.”
The Emmy-winning actor also mentions that the documentary emphasizes how prohibition and bootlegging were the first major ways the mob was able to make money in America. “Prohibition gave them the landscape to create the empires that they did,” he says.
