Summer in the City, theNew York Timesbestselling author’s latest book, comes out March 25, 2024 and marks Aster’s first foray into the adult romance genre. The novel follows screenwriter Elle who is offered “the chance of a lifetime” to write a potential blockbuster movie set in the city — but there’s two problems. She has writer’s block, and the script is due at the end of the summer.
Elle reluctantly relocates to New York City for the summer, splurging on a massive apartment, to find out that her neighbor is a former hookup, tech “Billionaire Bachelor” Parker Warren. The pair has been stuck in a classic “lovers-to-enemies” situation since, and they couldn’t be more different.
He’s on the cover of every magazine and at every red carpet event, while she writes anonymously and is perfectly comfortable staying in her neighborhood.

Parker, meanwhile, needs to fake a relationship during his company’s acquisition period. They could help each other with their respective problems — assuming they can stand being around each other long enough to pull it off.
