Niecy Nash-Bettsgave a special shout-out to herself at the 75th annualPrimetime Emmy Awards.

“Thank you to the most high for this divine moment,” she shared. “Thank you Ryan Murphy for seeing me Evan Peters, I love you. Netflix, every single person who voted for me, thank you. And my better half who picked me up when I was gutted from this work. Thank you. And you know who I want to thank? I want to thank me.”

“For believing in me and doing what they said I could not,” she continued. “And I want to say to myself in front of all you beautiful people, “Go on girl with your bad self. You did that!”

Ashford was also nominated for her role as Irene Banerjee in Hulu’sWelcome to Chippendales.The nomination marked her first at the Emmys. In the 2022 drama, the 38-year-old actress played the woman who eventually became the owner of the Chippendales franchise.

Though she’s become well known for the screen, Ashford is also a stage star who just wrapped her run as Mrs. Lovett in the Broadway production ofSweeney Todd.

Bello, 56, was nominated for her first Emmy for the role of Jordan Forester in Netflix’s hit dramaBeef.

“I only wanted to work with people that I like, and I trust, and it’s great writing and a great group of people. Boom,” she added. “I read a lot of things, but as soon as I read [Lee Sun Jin’s] writing — such a genius — I fell in love with it.”

The role in the Hulu series took a certain type of courage for Weaver, 43, who portrayed a family tragedy and close familial bond. “I remember kind of having to steady myself and fortify myself in the face of that kind of energy and love,” she toldVariety.

Of the role, and the show’s conclusion, she said, “It is beautiful, and my honest experience of it was one of not really doing a good job, and of choosing and practicing and failing gracefully.”
