Pamela Anderson’s debut cookbook started as a personal project.
I Love You: Recipes from the Heartwas originally created as “a housewarming gift for her sons and their girlfriends,” according to a press release. (Anderson, 56, is mom toBrandon Thomas, 27, and Dylan Jagger, 26.) Now fans will get to step into her world on Vancouver Island when the book is released on October 15.

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the cover of the new project — a radiant, makeup-free Anderson smiles as she sits on a rustic kitchen table. The cozy scene encompasses the theme of the book: home and comfort.
I Love Youwas partially shot in her own kitchen, which is described as a “down-to-earth family fairy kingdom.” It celebrates beloved plant-based recipes and her many pastimes, including gardening and design. (Anderson has been a plant-based cook for decades.)

In recent months, Anderson has been embracing her natural side — in and out of the kitchen — most notably when she went makeup free atParis Fashion Week in September.
“I know I wasn’t making strides toward world peace, but I was making a statement,” Anderson toldVoguein October. “I just thought, ‘I’m doing this for all the girls out there.’ I’ve had stepdaughters in past relationships and my sons have girlfriends, and this was for them.”
Ever since, Anderson has become the face of a wider no-makeup movement. “I just don’t want to play the game,“she told PEOPLEin November. “It felt good to look in the mirror and say, ‘I’m OK just like this.'”
