Chris Zylkais reflecting on his whirlwind romance withParis Hiltonand the factors that led to theirbroken engagement.
During a recent appearance on theNed’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guidepodcast,The Leftoversalum, 38, opened up about his ex-fiancée and the regrets he has about the way their relationship went down.
Zylka dispelled any “misconceptions” about the hotel heiress, 42, and called her a “wonderful human being,” before revealing that the former couple decided to go their separate ways after she allegedly asked him to give up performing.

Due to Hilton’s previous experiences in her personal life,The Amazing Spidermanstar shared that “acting wasn’t a choice for me during that time.” While he “completely understood” the reasons behind theSimple Lifealum’s request, his love for the craft was “the one thing I couldn’t live without.”
During their two-year relationship, Zylka revealed that he “didn’t work” despite being at the “peak” of his career and going into the series finale ofThe Leftovers. He explained that he didn’t have any “regrets” about choosing “her over work,” but ultimately realized how “important” his acting career was to him.
“I’ve never been able to apologize to her for … not being grateful for the experience and like, all that she did for me,” he confessed. “She’s the one relationship that I’ve ever had that there was no take — it was all give … and it was really lovely.”

In November 2018, Zylka and Hiltonwent their separate waysafter gettingengaged in Januaryearlier that year. Though the former couple first crossed paths at a party for the Oscar Awards in 2010, their romantic relationship didn’t begin until 2016.
Five years post-breakup, Zylka admitted he still missed Hilton’s family members and spending time withher parents. “I miss driving from like her house to Bel Air to hang out with them,” he said on the podcast.
“I cannot tell you one bad thing about Paris, like that was all me,” he continued, noting how watching Hilton’s “booming” career and her growing family “just warms my heart more than anything.”

In November 2021, Hilton marriedCarter Reumin a three-day wedding extravaganza. The couplewelcomed their first child, sonPhoenix Barron Hilton Reum, via surrogate in January 2023. The news came after Hilton shared that she and Reum triedin vitro fertilizationin 2021.
