According toThe Court Jewellerblog, when the opening of Parliament was a grander occasion, the court wore black and white. While the event has modernized with the times, women in the Swedish royal family are known to go with that color palette “in a nod to the past.” Like Sofia, Queen Silivia, 80, Crown Princess Victoria, 47, and Princess Madeleine, 42, all wore black and white outfits to Riksdag in Stockholm.

Later that day, Princess Sofia switched outfits to attend a performance at the Royal Opera House — and turned up the glam! The Duchess of Värmland changed into a red velvet wrap dress tied above her growing bump and completed the look with a coordinating clutch and nude shoes.

“Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their fourth child,” the court said in a statement.

“Princess Sofia is feeling well, and the birth is expected to take place in February 2025. During the autumn, no changes in the public schedule of Princess Sofia are planned,” it said.
