A friend inRachel Lindsay’s corner is offering an update on the formerBacheloretteafter the news that her husbandBryan Abasolofiled fordivorce.

On Wednesday,Justin SylvestergaveBachelorNation anupdateon how the lawyer is doing onToday with Hoda & Jenna.

TheE! Newshost also offered a reaction to thestatementthat Abasolo released just hours after the divorce filing went public, as he said “it was weird and kind of telling” given that Lindsay is “super private about her personal life.”

The couple has largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight in the six years since their engagement.

“But if everybody just gives her her privacy right now, I know that when she’s ready to talk, she will have a lot to say,” Sylvester concluded.

She said in the caption that she is “choosing to focus on grateful moments and carrying that energy into 2024. 💛”

Abasolo, meanwhile, shared the news of the split on Instagram,

“After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew," he wrote. “My parents have been married forever and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go.”

The chiropractor said that he doesn’t “like to put my personal affairs on social media and like to keep a safe space for our family,” adding that being a husband was his “proudest role so far.”

He continued, “I wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps.”

News of the split comes just after Lindsay appeared on the Dec. 21 episode ofNick Viall’sViall Filespodcastand said that she and Abasolo had kept their relationship private “because people were so critical of us when we came off the show.”

“Marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there,” theReal Loveauthor continued. “I kind of want to keep it that way, so when I want to share something, I do.”

She also admitted during the episode thatshe and Abasolo were living “totally different lives.”

“Me, especially now that I’m not doingExtra, I have a lot more free time… and then I’m back in hustle mode trying to get a second job, so I go to events," Lindsay said. “So, we’re just in two totally different places.”
