Broadway is about to get evenstranger.

That’s becauseStranger Things: The First Shadow— the critically acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning play based on the hit Netflix seriesStranger Things— is transferring to the Big Apple next year, forthe starry 2024-2025 season.

Producers announced the move on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The production will begin begins performances on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Marquis Theatre, ahead of an official opening of Tuesday, April 22.

Henry’s family, per a synopsis. “finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy … and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”

And going back to the beginning of the story, the synopsis continues, “may hold the key to the end.”

Stranger Things: The First Shadowis currently playing at the Phoenix Theatre in London. Tickets are on sale there now through February 2025.

Tickets for the Broadway transfer go on sale to the general public at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Earlier pre-sale tickets will be released at the same time on Friday, Sept. 13for those who sign up on the show’s official website.

No cast has been announced yet for Broadway, but like London, direction will come from prolific film and theater director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot,The Crown,Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close). Justin Martin co-directs.

The Duffer Brothers are credited as creative producers, whileDeadpool and WolverinedirectorShawn Levyand Dan Cohen (both executive producers onStranger Things, for 21 Laps) are listed as associate producers.

Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions are also among those on the production team.

Meanwhile, productionbegan on season 5back in January. The following month, Levy gave PEOPLE a cryptic teaser about the series’ long-awaited finale.

“If I was a fan who had nothing to do withStranger Things, I would presume that the final season was going to be big in scale,” said Levy, 55. “But I’d also want to note thatthe heart and soul of that show, which is its characters, are intact and are as central as spectacle.”

“And indeed, they are,” he added.
