A Texas man was on a FaceTime call with his girlfriend when he was fatally shot, police say.

According to local media outletABC13, the shooting occurred on Thursday at around 8:40 p.m. at a home in northeast Houston.

Houston Fire Department paramedics were reportedly the first ones to arrive at the scene, where they found a 45-year-old man who had been shot twice in the chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, per the outlet.

“He was in the living room. We don’t know if one suspect or more,” Lt. I. Izaguirre of the Houston Police Department told ABC13. “We don’t know if they kicked the door in or they were welcomed in, there’s still a lot of questions.”

Police said that when they arrived, they cleared the house and no one else was there.

According to local media outletFOX 26 Houston, investigators believe robbery was the motive for the shooting, per the outlet.

Police later said that a blue Chevy Silverado pickup truck was seen leaving the home after the shots were heard, according to ABC13.

A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
