Ian Flanigan is married!
The Voiceseason 19 alum tied the knot with Kelsey Charles in a small, intimate ceremony at the4 Eagle Ranchin Beaver Creek, Colo., on Feb. 29.
Ian tells PEOPLE that the scenic venue — nestled in the valley of the Eagle River basin, with sweeping, snow-covered mountain views — is where he and his now-wife first met.

The pair carefully planned a ceremony filled with sentimental details that highlighted not only their love story but their respective family roots.
“It was important to us to create an intimate and highly personalized ceremony so many of the elements included had an underlying meaning,” he explains. “From bringing family artifacts such as Kelsey’s grandfather’s shearling blanket to a piece of my late mother’s wedding dress sewn into my jacket, there were nods to family and the ones who mean the most to us throughout the day.”
Ian asked his fellowVoicecontestant Jim Ranger and his wife Camilla — whom he called his “dear friends” — to officiate the couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony.
“With handwritten vows and just our immediate family in tow, we went to the middle of the field and were married amongst the mountains and the ones we love most,” he recounts.

“I had been carrying the ring way too long trying to find a private place,” he recalls of the lead-up to the proposal. “When we hiked out to the cliffs, I knew it was the perfect spot and I surprised her while she was looking out at the ocean.”

Now that he and Kelsey are officially husband and wife, Ian tells PEOPLE they are excited to take on life together, whatever may come.
“Marriage to me means making a lifelong commitment to your partner and best friend to always have each other’s backs through every high and low in life and to always support each other’s dreams and become a family,” he notes.
For Kelsey, marriage is “a promise to forever be each other’s biggest champion and also the one to hold the other down.”
Of their future plans, she adds, “I can’t wait to start a family and bring them on this journey that is our crazy, little life.”
