T.J. HolmesandAmy Robachare proud that they can grow together as a couple.

In the latestepisodeof the formerGMA3: What You Need to Knowco-anchors’Amy & T.J.podcast, released on Thursday, the two stars admitted to feeling grateful that they decided to release Tuesday’s recording, in which they spoke candidly about theirrelationship issues.

“I was ultimately proud that we put that last episode out,” Holmes, 46, said of theinstallmentthat found Robach, 50, confronting him about his “communication kinks.”

“Like, that took a lot,” he added.

Although the two said at another point in the episode that the tense conversation“spawned at least one and maybe two other”arguments, the podcaster explained that he thought they arrived at the right decision. “We were so deliberate in our back and forth. It came at some expense to us behind the scenes in getting it prepared, and there were a lot more conversations, very difficult ones,” Holmes said. “But I ultimately was proud we put it out.”

Beyond being transparent with their fans, Holmes said that he’s thankful for the potential growth that could come out of the experience. “I am talking about lessons you took from that. I learned them in the moment with you,” he said.

The podcaster continued, “I love you and I’m going to be with you, whatever fight comes next.”

After Robach also offered an apology, she opened up about what she learned from the experience, too. “In the actual fight, I wasn’t sure what I did wrong. I said to you, ‘I don’t know what I did wrong.’ And listening to it back, I did figure out what I did wrong,” she admitted.

The co-host then revealed what she felt she could do to improve as a partner, saying, “I want to be focused less on the explaining and the defense and the whys and just more on board with acknowledging how you’re feeling, validating how you’re feeling, and apologizing for contributing to the mess we’re in.”

Shortly after the contentious episode dropped on Tuesday, the couple shared on social mediathey’re still very much together.

In a jointInstagram Reelposted Tuesday, the pair walked arm-in-arm on the streets of New York City and addressed their fans about the status of their relationship.

“We just wanted to check in and let you know that, despite what you’ve been hearing, we are still together,” Holmes said.

“We’re hearing from a lot of you all on our latest episode of the podcast,” he continued. “It was something we really struggled and debated about whether or not we should even put out there — but at this point I’m glad we did.”

Robach chimed in and agreed, explaining that “our larger goal in putting out our latest episode was to show that, yes we like to show pictures of us smiling like everyone else and laughing on social media, but if we want to be real and we want to transparent we wanted to show all the sides of us and I would say most relationships.”

“So we hope that all you get something out of it and we hope you keep coming back,” she concluded.
