McDermottannounced his split from Spellingafter 18 years of marriage in an Instagram post in June, on the same day listed as the day of separation in the filing. He cited that the pair “have decided to go our separate ways,” but deleted the post shortly afterward.

Representatives for both Spelling and McDermott did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In December, Spelling enjoyed time out with her four younger kids at Jingle Ball 2023 and opened up about needing family time after a “challenging” year.
